Middle East Natural Products Expo to showcase Organic & Natural Products in Dubai
150 industry leaders from 40 countries to take part in the three-day show, from November 30 to December 2, 2003
Dubai, July 2, 2003: The Middle East Natural Products Expo, the largest exhibition on organic and natural products, will take place in Dubai at the Grand Hyatt International Convention Centre from November 30 to December 2, 2003, under the support and patronage of the Zayed Complex for Herbal Research and Traditional Medicine, the Association of Middle East Organic & Natural Trade (AMON), several ministries and international associations. Organised by Global Links, the Dubai-based exhibition company, the Middle East Natural Products Expo 2003 has generated tremendous interest in the natural products industry, and over 150 industry leaders from 40 countries are expected to take part, showcasing the latest in nutritional products, natural cosmetics, organic foods, natural gifts, herbal products, alternative and traditional medicine, health supplements, spas, resorts and treatment centers etc., according to Abdulla S. Al Matroushi, Chairman of Global Links. Running alongside the major event will be a companion exhibition-cum-conference ‘The World Of Olives’, dedicated to the olive business. Both the events will be enhanced by conferences featuring international speakers who will throw light on the effectiveness of natural products and unique properties of olives. “We are delighted by the overwhelming response we have received from companies from around the world. We expect over 150 leaders from growing this industry to participate in this three-day event that will assemble manufacturers, producers and distributors of natural and organic products on a common platform,” said Girish Dabrai, Managing Director of Global Links. Global markets rate natural products as being worth over US$ 150 billion, with a rapid growth being recorded each year. The Middle East is a fast-growing market for natural and organic products, and the exhibition is expected to attract over 5,000 visitors, including buyers, importers, distributors and traders from all over the Middle East, the Indian Sub- Continent, the Levant region, North Africa and the CIS countries. Dabrai said the Middle East Natural Products Expo’s standing had been considerably boosted by several recent developments in the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has fully endorsed the usage of natural products by establishing the Zayed Complex for Herbal Research and Traditional Medicine, which recently won recognition from World Health Organization (WHO). Dubai has also unveiled plans for a $1.8 billion ‘Dubai Healthcare City’, which will incorporate natural spas, health resorts and a center integrating eastern medicines and alternative health programmes.
