eyeglass frames and lenses

Is anyone else affected by the materials in eyeglass frames and lenses? They changed these materials about 14 years ago, and I can't tolerate them. When I try on a new pair, the plastics, acrylics, metals, paints, all cause my eyes to burn, and even my mouth is affected as I can taste these products. I had to have glass lenses put into my 12 year old frames that don't cause problems. I'm not a candidate for laser vision correction because of dry eye syndrome and blepharitis (sp?). I desperately need new frames and thinner lenses. Does anyone have any suggestions?
