The following is about the fibrio symptoms I suffer and how I am going about managing it (Skip through if its too long...its just a good release to talk about it). I am wishing to make contacts with people going through similiar situations and how they are managing things. DON'T GIVE UP, JUST BECUASE ITS NOT CLINICALLY CLASSED AS A DISEASE AND THERE IS NOT MUCH EVIDENCED-BASED TREATMENTS OFFERED, IF WE STICK TOGETHER THROUGH TRAIL AND ERROR WE WILL GET THERE.
I am 20 years old and every day I am in pain. When I was younger I was involved in alot of sport and would probaly be competing in many major competitions now instead of sitting here barely able to move. Its so unfair. I am forced to rest and eat and become a fat bluger which is ironic with the great motivation I have for life. I am currently studing to be a dietitian, which is a real struggle full time as you never know when will be able to actually physysically attend class.
I have recently and finally been diagonsed with fibro. I suffer IBS (irratable bowel sydrome) sereve allergies, colitis, hearing problems, fatiuge, pain everywhere all the time and many other problems for which doctors have told me is all in my head. And I tell you I was nearly convinced I really was crazy. Thank God I found a lovely doctor earlier this year and told me I have this condition. (oh god, there are so many doctors that are just horrible).
I find when the pain eases, that walking, although it is very hard and painful, helps, along with mild yoga. I had to give up weight training a few years back and figured more muscle would probaly mean more pain. I do take a light does of an antidepressant to help with the pain. I also eat fresh, organic (or well washed and peeled) foods, and limit additives to place less strain on my metabolism. As Im very stressy person, meditation helps too.
But lately, nothing seems to help. Im having a bad flare-up I guess.
So anybody, tell me about yourself and how you are coping with things. I'm hoping to make enough contacts, so when I'm qualified I can take my studies further with the fibro with public support and involvement.
Thanks for your time, Jo. PS: I understand....
