There are many valid reasons for not purchasing or consuming dairy. From an ethical perspective, imprisoning animals isn't much different than killing them. Cows are kept in cages barely big enough for them to move, constantly being injected with hormones and bovine sperm so they are always pregnant and lactating. Sometimes, when power outages occur on dairy farms cows die because the machines fail to milk them, and their utters swell and rupture. Chickens have rough lives too. They are de-beaked, declawed, and crammed into tiny cages with out enough room to even spread their clipped wings. From a health perspective, most dairy products are high in saturated fat and cholesterol, not to mention they are difficult to digest, frequently rotting away in one's colon, eventually causing cancer. But don't take my word for it. Write to PETA 501 Front Street Norfolk Va, 23510 and request information. Thanks for caring enough to be interested.
