While I will admit that calling you an asshole was inapropriate, at the time I feel that it was justly deserved. And why offer good luck to the young lady looking for literature to convince her mother, when you flat out mocked her and her desire for her mothers approval?
What you are doing IS personal, it's VERY personal. The decision to become a vegetarian was a very hard decision for me to make, and now it's something that had become a part of who I am and how I live my life. It doesn't get much more personal than that (unless you call someone as asshole, I suppose).
You seem like an intelligent person, and I am sorry that we had to meet this way.
I would be glad to discuss any of these matters further with you.
