Reviews and
Commentary
The author, Carol Reed-Jones,
Why I wrote Green Weddings That Don't Cost the Earth:
This book originated when my husband and I were planning our own wedding. We
wanted a ceremony and reception that reflected our love of the wilderness and
concern for the environment. After searching in vain for books with advice on
planning such a wedding, we did our own research instead. We came up with a
green wedding that was fun to plan, and truly meaningful for us. This research
was the basis of my book.
From
Library Journal:
This unique guide features ideas for incorporating recycling and reducing waste
into wedding planning. Included are tips on locating "green" suppliers
for everything from invitations and wedding rings to vegetarian and vegan
caterers and eco-tour honeymoons. Reed-Jones also includes detailed instructions
for making many items by hand, such as bouquets, favors, and natural wedding
cakes, and offers suggestions for recycling and reusing leftovers. The large
bibliography will be useful not only to wedding planners and environmentalists
but also to collection development librarians. Recommended for public
libraries.-Susan B. Hagloch, Tuscarawas Cty. P.L., New Philadelphia, Ohio.
